Cyclone Plumbing and Heating installs and repairs hot water heaters. As a home owner you’ll probably have to replace several hot water heaters over the course of your lifetime. The average lifespan of hot water heaters is around 15 years, some will last longer and some will have a shorter lifespan.
Like most appliances and equipment in your home it’s important to select a model that’s right for your specific needs and requirements. We can help you with factors to consider to make the best choice for your home. You’ll want to factor in how much hot water you use, the speed needed to reheat water when the supply tank empties and the energy efficiency of the unit.
A hot water tank which is too small for a households requirements leaves you waiting for hot water. A tank which is too large can needlessly increase your utility bill as more water than needed is being heated. With sizes ranging from 40 to 120 gallons we can help identify your hot water usage so you can get the best value for your dollar.
We offer quality work and provide customer satisfaction for hot water heaters.

Conventional Hot Water Tanks which store the heated water in the tank are the most common in Alberta. This type of hot water system is popular as it is the least expensive to purchase and to install.
Typically, when reheating water after a 10 minute shower, a hot water tank can replace the water used in about 30 minutes. This is much faster than an electric water water heater but not as efficient as a tankless hot water system.
Selecting the correct size for your usage will reduce your energy costs.
A tankless hot water system is far more efficient at heating and delivering hot water, able to keep up with supply demands. This system is more efficient, than tank systems, as it only uses energy when water is called for and it can offer an endless supply of hot water.
Tankless systems are a little more expensive than conventional units for intial cost, but they are more energy efficient and smaller in size (one popular model is approximately 24” x 17”) taking up less space in utility rooms.
There are some common indicators you may see to suggest your hot water heater is beginning to fail and lose its efficiency. It’s important to remember that if you see any of the signs below that you should have your water heater inspected or serviced to prevent potential damage that can be caused by an old, worn-out unit.
